Mike Samuels was Head of Medical Illustration at the Royal Free and University College London, Medical School, until October 2006.
Previously, Head of Medical Photography at St Bartholomew's Hospital College of Medicine in London, he worked closely with plastic, oral and maxillofacial surgeons and dermatologists.
He has been a qualified medical and dental photographer for nearly 40 years, practising for over 25 years and was instrumental in developing the mole mapping protocol he now uses in his clinic to aid early diagnosis of malignant melanoma.
Mike has extensive experience within the professional photographic industry, including still life, portraiture and commercial work and has operated a wide range of conventional and digital photographic equipment; he also has extensive experience producing slide presentations.
He now offers specialist photographic training to healthcare and legal professionals either on a one to one or small group workshop basis.
Mike is an accredited Registered Medical Illustration Practitioner and a Member of the Institute of Medical Illustrators working to their Code of Professional Conduct.
He also carries a full Criminal Record Bureau Disclosure Certificate enabling him to work with children and vulnerable adults.
